As in October 2012 and October 2018, all residents received a last-minute flyer from MR-Défi in their letterboxes, containing alarmist and misleading messages. A cowardly approach, in the hope that we, Kraainem-Unie, will no longer be able to react.

We have always communicated transparently that we intended to use a significant part of the reserves for investments because this was necessary after years of stagnation due to community squabbles. MR-Défi wanted to use the reserves to build a community house (and was even prepared, in 2017-2018, to sell a building with a social purpose – which became Octopus – to a property developer). We chose to invest in infrastructure for the safety and well-being of our citizens.

We will continue to communicate transparently about the use of your tax dollars.
