The opposition claims that the mayor has his forum in a FB group in which the opposition has been blocked since 2018. Is this correct?

Answer: no!

Fact-checking:

Kraainem has many FACEBOOK groups.

Some are run by ‘a-political’ citizens, i.e. with no political agenda, but with the aim of facilitating exchanges between citizens. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them.

Other groups are managed by political representatives with a political agenda (hidden or not). Here are a few examples: 

  • The FB ‘Ne love the municipality of Kraainem‘. The opposition refers to this group.
    Note that the mayor doesn’t have his own tribune, far from it (it’s the tribune of the Pro-Kraainem political group), only that he isn’t blocked there, as in the FB groups managed by the opposition. The group ‘nous aimons la commune de Kraainem’ is a private initiative of Olivier Joris, Pro-Kraainem’s representative on the town council, with a number of administrators whose names are listed below:

    is managed by Isabelle Fouarge and Sara Kekliwho are both council representatives for the MR. The mayor is blocked from this group, as are theare also blocked. Kraainem-Unie who are therefore unable to respond to any messages (true or not) that appear on it.
