Dear ladies and gentlemen,<\/div>\n
We are here today to celebrate an important event – Ukraine’s Independence Day.<\/div>\n
Let me express our support to all Ukrainians who remain in Ukraine.
\nWe admire your strength and courage, and we stand with you in this difficult time. <\/div>\n
From the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, Belgium has been providing its support and assistance to Ukraine, including military assistance.
\nIt is very important that we continue to do so. <\/div>\n
If we do not continue to help Ukraine, then we will accept the fact that Russia has taken over the territory of Ukraine.
\nIn any case, we cannot allow this to happen. <\/div>\n
Today is an opportunity to thank all those who have helped and are helping Ukrainians, no matter what kind of help we are talking about.<\/div>\n
Today, as every day, we also thank all those who stand in defence of both Ukraine and the whole of Europe!
\nThank you for the opportunity to live, work and develop under peaceful skies. <\/div>\n
As always, I hope that the war will end soon and that you will be able to return home.
\nIn the meantime, we are very pleased to be able to host you in Belgium. <\/div>\n
